ToolWatch Announced Addition to Customer Base
Cianbro adopts enterprise tool and equipment management system to simplify tool, equipment and consumable tracking

DENVER, COLO., August, 2009—ToolWatch announced today the addition of Cianbro to its growing construction customer list. Cianbro implemented ToolWatch's Enterprise tool and equipment management software-as-a-service (SaaS) to improve its data collection capabilities.

Cianbro is a 60-year-old, employee-owned construction company with more than 2,000 employees in seven locations along the eastern seaboard. Cianbro’s equipment arm owns an equipment fleet consisting of approximately 3,300 pieces valued at more than $66 million. Cianbro Equipment supports customers by making sure the proper equipment is available and ready for rapid mobilization on projects ranging from bridges and an oil refinery to shopping malls and module construction.

"Cianbro needed to retire its legacy system and implement a hosted solution to avoid the overhead an installed system requires," said Dale Thomas, IT director for Cianbro. "We needed a flexible system that would keep up with our sophisticated processes for transferring tools and equipment between job sites and simplify our invoicing process. Simply put, Enterprise fit the bill."

ToolWatch collaborated with Cianbro to optimize its architecture to support Cianbro's need to manage its heavy transaction volume by synchronizing data between the server and PCs on the server side, reducing the time needed to transfer data from several hours to just a few seconds. ToolWatch’s SaaS removes the need for an internal IT department with programmers to manage system updates and maintenance.
