Matrix Service Industrial Contractors Migrates from ToolWatch SE to Enterprise to Improve Equipment Utilization
Industrial Contractor Upgrades Tool and Equipment Tracking System

DENVER, COLO., October, 2009—ToolWatch added Matrix Service Industrial Contractors, Inc., to its Enterprise customer list. Matrix moved from ToolWatch's SE platform to its Enterprise solution to implement tool and equipment tracking and improve resource utilization across regional operations.

Matrix is a full-service industrial contractor headquartered in Tulsa, Okla., with regional offices in eight states and three Canadian provinces. Matrix provides engineering, fabrication, construction, repair and maintenance services to energy and industrial markets.

"Using a tool and equipment tracking system lets us locate under-utilized equipment so we can reduce our capital spending," said Scott Sciotto, equipment operations manager for Matrix Service Industrial Contractors. "We hope to increase our utilization from 20 percent to closer to 60 percent with the ToolWatch Enterprise system in place."

Matrix originally implemented ToolWatch SE, a tool and equipment tracking system ideal for single-location construction companies, at its Tulsa operation. As the company expanded its services in Delaware, Pennsylvania and New Jersey, Sciotto realized it was necessary to manage tool and equipment information in one
on-demand, centralized database - so they upgraded to Enterprise. The company has plans to expand the system to several other locations next year.

The ToolWatch Enterprise system is available Enterprise-wide or as software-as-a-system (SaaS) for managing tools, equipment, materials and consumables. The software includes a variety of hardware options to improve tool tracking capabilities, including global positioning systems and scanning devices.

"ToolWatch's software products provide flexibility as our customers’ businesses grow," said Don Kafka, chief executive officer of ToolWatch. "Our applications are designed to easily transfer information into the Enterprise system, meaning customers maintain data integrity and existing functionality without the need to learn a brand-new system."
